St Lucia above- and beneath the waves

St Lucia, West Indies, Caribbean 19/4-2016

As promised, here are some more pics from our current stay in Saint Lucia, East Caribbean :-)

When hiking our way towards the north-east side, we come across many cute little houses...

.
... often we also get friendly walking company... :-)

.
Cas en Bas is a small bay and beach with a very cozy atmosphere. Here we kitesurf when the wind allows...

Enough wind and we´re out on the water!

.
When playing among the waves with kite and board, my never ending curiosity of the hidden life beneath the surface keeps calling for my attention...

.
With snorkel, mask and a deep breath, I so disappear underwater to say hello to my many different aquatic friends! :-)

.
Three years ago, we met Lien and Gi in Crete in the Mediterranean. Now, many nautical miles later, we are very happy to meet them again and spend some beautiful days onboard their catamaran Lazuli.

Like always, time flies...

Four weeks spent in Saint Lucia, and it is getting time to soon head back towards Canada and thereafter Scandinavia again.

But before these lovely destinations awaits, we still have some few more days to enjoy the Caribbean Sea, from both above, beneath and maybe upside-down ;-)

St Lucia, West Indies

St Lucia, West Indies, Caribbean 1/4-2016

From a beautiful white covered Mont Royal, it is time for us to head south to the warmer latitudes of the Caribbean Sea.

However, still in Canada, the snow fall soon develops into ice storm, and we get stuck in Toronto, where no planes can departure due to the frozen rain.

Many hours later, we are still patiently waiting in the aircraft which hopefully will bring us to the Caribbean. And so it does, finally we are on our way to St Lucia with flying speed!! :-)

.
St Lucia is an island country in the West Indies, located midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent, and north of Barbados.

Below some pics from our first days spent here... :-)

.
Hiking our way to Cas en Bas, on the north-east coast, where our aim is to kitesurf when conditions allows. During our "explore-walk" we find many natural treasures in all kind of shapes and colours.

.
But also, like most places around the world, the evidence of the human mass consumption of plastic, follows us everywhere. A consumption that causes so much damage and suffering when it ends up in nature...

.
After many, many months spent in cold latitudes... Guess who is eager to jump into the 28°C warm water! ;-)

.
As much as I love to spend time in both cold and icy waters, it feels wonderful to freely be playing in a warm ocean surrounding again!
