Wild & Remote Fjords of Greenland

.

Scoresbysund, East Coast of Greenland 12/9-3/10-2017

Surrounded by the most majestic mountain landscape, where the many glaciers meet the deep, cold fjords, we wait in silence to hopefully get another glimpse of the narwhals, earlier seen from further distance.

.
The engine of the ship is turned off and so is the generator. This to increase our chance to see these shy, hard spotted marine mammals a little bit closer...

The overwhelming silence of remote wilderness is all around.

.
Thanks to the very calm sea conditions, we are lucky again to see the narwhals one more time when they, at a bit closer distance, pass the ship on their way further into the long, scenic fjord.

.
At 71 degrees north, I'm at the east coast of Greenland, guiding for Joshua Holko and Daniel Bergmann, together with co-guide and expedition leader Eirik Grønningsæther. Based on the photogenic and comfortable ship Rembrandt Von Rijn, in order to find good spots for the small group of enthusiastic landscape photographers onboard, we cruise the fabulous, iceberg filled fjords in the area of Scorebysund.

.
More from a truly awe-inspiring time at the beautiful remote east coast of Greenland soon :-)
