Spitsbergen, Svalbard, June 2022
Back to Arctic waters, where I am joining a marine mammal survey in the Barents Sea. The majority of our two months´ work is spent far out at sea, surrounded by the endless horizon.
So far, we made it up to over 80°N and have also spent some few days closer to land, exploring a bit of the magnificent world of Svalbard.
In this blogpost are some photos from a day spent in Woodfjord, a fjord on the north coast of Spitsbergen, followed by a passage through the ice filled Hinlopen Strait, before heading out to open waters again.
