Ermoúpolis, Syros, Greece 26/10-2011

Sailing distance made: 5666 nautical miles
After many nice days, and lots of close encounters with friendly octopuses, we leave the cozy harbour of Aigina island.
During the next days we spend the nights at anchor in small bays...
The many islands of Greece are not only offering safe and cozy bays, but also lots of historical monuments and breathtaking sunsets...
The many nice evening colours are offering lots of good opportunities to play with the camera and create new pictures... :)
Many days at sea with the result of many new islands to discover...
Now we are in Ermoúpolis, on the island of Syros and here we will spend some more days...
Nearby the island of Syros, there is an island, wich is offering really exiting surroundings both over as well as under the surface. A good reason to spend some more time here... :)

Ithaca - Aigina
.
Aigina, Greece 14/10-2011
N37°44.693´
E023°25.634´
Sailing distance made: 5572 nautical miles
Our first days in Greece we spent at the lovely island of Ithaca. The surroundings here are really beautiful with high green mountains and deep blue water...
When it is time for us to continue our trip further east, the weather is dramatical changing...
It is getting cold and soon there is even snow on the mountains!
After some cold days out at sea, the sun starts to smile again, and we have now arrived the Corint Canal. The Corint Canal is a short, but very special canal with high walls...
About one hour later we are already on the other side of the canal and the first thing we see here is a crowd of guys waiting for a new date..., well I mean a crowd of male dogs which are hopefully looking towards our female dog on the boat... ;)
Thereafter we have just some few hours before we enter our current destination Aigina, an island south of Athens.
Here we will stay for some days until it is time to set sail again... :)

Italy - Greece
.
Vathi, Ithaca, Greece 6/10-2011
N38°21.909´
E020°43.096´
Sailing distance made: 5405 nautical miles
Our sailing trip from the southern part of Italy to Greece has been nice, with lots of good wind in our sails. During the first night we got quite heavy thunderstorms and strong winds, but thereafter both the sun and the sea have been smiling towards us most of the time.
Far out at sea we suddenly got an unexpected guest. Our new friend and temporary crew member was a small bird, which seemed really greatful to get some rest on our boat. It also found some flies onboard and satisfied it was soon falling asleep on Armin´s shoulder... So sweet!!! :)
Two nights later we start to see the first islands of Greece...
... and we arrive the small village Vathi on the beautiful island of Ithaca.
With the boat in the safe harbour it is really hard to resist go out snorceling and make some research in the clear blue water... :)
Now we will do lots of diving and uw-filming and I will soon publish some photos from our latest dives... :)
