South Georgia & Falkland Islands

South Georgia & The Falkland Islands, South Atlantic

After a wonderful time among ice and wildlife in the remote waters of the Antarctic Peninsula, we make our way north, giving a brief visit to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. Here are some few pictures from these amazing islands and of some of its stunning wildlife.

These first photos are from South Georgia with King penguins, Antarctic fur seals and Elephant seal (laying in the water).

And then the Falkland Islands in the company of Black-browed albatross, Southern rockhopper penguin and Gentoo penguin.

New Year South of the Antarctic Circle

Antarctica, January 2024

New year was spent south of the Antarctic circle, where penguins, whales, seals and impressive ice bergs keep us company.

Here are some impressions from down south... the creatures on the photos are Adélie penguin, Humpback whale and Weddell seal.

Back On The Tropical Blue

New Caledonia, South Pacific, November 2023

When fall has arrived in the northern hemisphere, spring is back in the south. Although the differences between the seasons are not by far as big as back home in Scandinavia, there are still many seasonal signs to admire in thriving nature.

Spring normally means annual boat maintenance...

After close to 4 weeks in the boat yard, we are ready with the work and, as always, very eager to get back in the water.

The vast, blue lagoon and its magical creatures call us back for more salty adventures!

The island of Tenia welcomes us with its lovely scenery...

This island is located next to the barrier reef and is a great spot for numerous activities.

The calm mornings are precious as the trade winds continue to be strong most of the days. These southeasterly winds offer, in turn, great opportunities for more play, either with kite or wing.

Our aquatic neighbours are many. Only a shorter swim from our anchorage is needed to meet marvelous creatures of various kind.

Always as exciting when jumping into the water, one never now who or what is waiting beneath the surface…
